DEVIZES TOWN are staring relegation in the face after a 3-1 defeat to Bridgwater on Saturday.
The loss leaves Pete Tripp's side tied with Welton on 16 points at the bottom of the Premier Division, but safety markers Barnstaple were victorious to leave Devizes five points adrift in the drop zone.
A brace from Graham Cheeseman left Devizes 2-0 down at the break.
Danny Milford made it 3-0 after the restart before Ryan Lovegrove grabbed a late consolation from the spot.
Melksham Town were beaten by the same scoreline, albeit to Premier Division leaders Team Bath.
Buoyed by their 4-0 Wilts Senior Cup success over Highworth on Wednesday, Robbie Lardner's troops raced into a shock lead when Matty Bown broke the deadlock within five minutes. The hosts held on to their lead until 40 seconds into the second half when Luke Prince equalised.
Matt Lewis and Barry Lavety then struck to keep the University side on course for promotion to the Dr Martens League.
Honours were even in the battle at the bottom of the First Division as Corsham drew 1-1 at Street. Luke Chapman put the Wiltshire side ahead but Pete Copeland headed an equaliser to leave both clubs stuck in the bottom five.
