THE Evening advertiser has again allowed the Letters page to carry a wide variety of views regarding the rights and wrongs of war with Iraq.
Whether Mr Blair and President Bush are right or wrong to embark on this course of action to achieve a laudable objective will be debated for years to come.
However, today we put aside our personal thoughts and shoulder any misgivings. For today it is incumbent on the British people to offer support to the men and women of the Armed Forces. Their time has come and as they cross over the divide between expectation into reality they must do so in the knowledge that all who remain at home are behind them. As they engage the enemy we wish them a swift victory, and afterwards we wish them Godspeed in their journey home.
To their families, we should all offer our thanks and pray their loved ones return to the comfort of home.
