SUPERMARINE took on Wootton Bassett and Swindon at under seven level.

Adam Bartlett bagged a hat-trick and Daniel Uzzell a couple as they defeated Bassett 7-5, Stuart Carver and Ryan Thompson also scored.

They then drew 6-6 with Swindon, Bartlett bagging another treble while Robert O'Dwyer, Stuart Carver, Ryan Thompson and Alex Smith scored.

A second game against Bassett followed and it was another close affair, Marine winning 5-4.

Bartlett was again on the scoresheet as were Robert O'Dwyer, Harry Sallis, Luke Pagett, Stuart Carver.

Cirencester under nines enjoyed a well-deserved 30-25 victory as they travelled to Gloucestershire rivals.

The Town side were up for the game and made a brisk start with a try from wing Jack Cook.

The tries came thick and fast on the good surface and forwards Harry Rhys-Thomas and Oscar Doyle, both scored before centre Barnaby Morton cut through the Painswick defence to make the half-time scored 20-10 in the visitors' favour.

Morton and Rhys-Thomas both scored their second tries for a commanding lead, but Painswick scored three unanswered tries and it was only solid defence that allowed Cirencester to hold out for victory.

In preparation for the continuing GRFU County Festival the Cirencester Under nines A side played a practise game against Painswick under 10s.

They narrowly losy a very well-matched game 10-5.

Town's only score came from their scrum-half Gus Collyer-Bristow.

The game was notable for its strong tackling and good driving play and it was only injuries to key players that allowed Painswick back into the game .

This Sunday, the Festival squad travel to Drybrook in the Forest of Dean for the second round of pool games .
