THE quest for the Wiltshire Cup continues unabated for Chippenham under 15s after they thrashed Wotton Bassett 46-14.

Ashley Hurcombe, playing in his favoured role of outside centre, helped himself to four tries as Chippenham were just too strong.

Tries also went to captain John Boddington and Michael Baptiste and the boot of Fraser Brown helped Chippenham to a 24-0 lead at half-time.

Wootton Bassett rallied after the break and came back with a converted try, but Hurcombe scored his second and Mike Smith added another, converted by Brown.

Bassett proved resilient and scored another try which again was converted to close the gap, but Max Sparrow scored his first try for Chippenham to seal victory.

Chippenham take on undefeated Salisbury on Sunday, effectively a decider for the trophy.

Team: A Bowyer, R Arittopah, N Quarrel, M Dick, W North, J Boddington (captain), M Bye, M Smith, J Goodenough, J Whitehead, R Fannin, S Johnston, C Spencer, L Surry, F Brown, M Clarke, A Hurcombe, M Baptiste, M Sparrow, A Walker, J David.

Chippenham's under 13 squad proved too strong in almost every department for visitors Trowbridge in the semi-final of the Wiltshire Cup, winning 50-0.

Ollie Morris bagged the first try and seven more followed, captain Tom Boreham adding five conversions.

Chippenham will play Salisbury in the final this Sunday. A neutral venue is being arranged.
