GLOUCESTERSHIRE Police are asking for Home Office funds to help pay for the massive police operation at RAF Fairford on Saturday.
The force brought in 1,000 officers from 18 forces across the country to line the route taken by the peace march.
The cost of the operation is likely to run into hundreds of thousands of pounds.
A meeting of the Urgency and Personal Matters Committee is to be held at the offices of the Police Authority in Chelten-ham this evening, when arrangements for operations at RAF Fairford will be discussed.
The costs of the Fairford operations are eligible for refund by the Home Office under special grant measures at the discretion of the Home Secretary.
Around 2,000 activists were involved in the protest, which saw scores of police in riot gear. Six people were arrested outside the base where 14 B-52 bombers are currently deployed for war on Iraq.
The operation was the largest conducted by the force working with both the Ministry of Defence and US Air Force Security forces.
