POOR old Anne Lubin! She thinks you can make germs in a water purification plant (see letters March 13).

Germs are cultured in a laboratory. Perhaps she was thinking about using chlorine gas, but this gas was not used by Saddam when he attacked the Kurds.

Still, this is in line with the next of her half-baked ideas, she goes on to tell us that Saddam gassed thousands of Iranians, then tells us that he is not the real war criminal.

By all means put Thatcher on trial for anything you can think of dear, but that doesn't mean Saddam should be allowed to continue his agenda. Did Anne Lubin march in protest when Saddam invaded Kuwait, killing many Kuwaitis and taking others hostage? If she did, I didn't hear about it.

I also didn't hear her volunteering to pay the asylum tax which somebody mentioned once in the Adver, although she is keen to play host to 140,000 Pakistanis, millions of Africans, unlimited Iraqis, Iranians, Morrocans, Algerians and Mauritians, most of whom can't speak English, have no education and have about as much chance of getting a job as I have of getting a date with J-Lo.

Still, Anne will take them in, won't you?
