IN response to Coun Mike Evemy's letter dated March 4. His letter clearly sees him in full political posturing in the run up to the May elections.
His comments were entirely disingenuous. If he truly believed in lower council tax and value for money for the council taxpayers, why did he and his fellow Liberals vote with the Labour group against the Tory proposals.
This clearly would have given the Swindon taxpayers the lowest increase of the three party proposals.
The blame for the 15 per cent tax increase lies squarely at the door of the Labour councillors and those taxpayers who continually vote for them.
The Labour party is the largest political group on Swindon council. So the only alternative would have been a Labour tax hike supported by the Liberals as neither party were interested in supporting the lower tax proposals of the Conservative party.
