I NEVER thought that when I retired I would be treated like a second class citizen.
I expected to be able to have a quiet life using my small savings to take my wife and I on holidays and days out and enjoying hobbies, unfortunately this is not the case with another 15 per cent increase in council tax I have had to give up some of my hobbies and unable to take my wife on outings as much as I would like.
Would any of the councillors who voted for the increase in council tax please explain through your paper exactly where did they think pensioners and the like would get their extra income from without causing hardship.
I have today cancelled my direct debit and will seriously think about paying the same as last year plus 2.6 per cent the amount being the increase in my pension.
