LEADERS Eastville suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Liden Pumas in the under 16 Division of the Swindon & District Minors League, while Brunel Boys went goal crazy.

Eastville suffered one of the shocks of the season to lose 2-1 against 10-man Liden Pumas on their own patch.

The title favourites had taken a first-half lead before Ben Johnson equalised prior to the interval.

Johnson fired the underdogs ahead in the second period, but the Pumas had to endure a lively finale as Lee Harper was dismissed after conceding a penalty.

But Liden keeper Jamie Hoye produced a great stop from the resulting spot-kick to secure a famous win.

It took Brunel 30 minutes to break down the Blunsdon defence in their game, but once they did the floodgates opened.

Hat-tricks from Adam Webb and David Hay and further strikes from Martin Cole, Navin Ahmed and Daniel Patterson gave Brunel the points.

Westlea stormed into a two-goal lead against Lydiard, but Craig Bowden reduced arrears before the break.

Lydiard pushed for an equaliser but Westlea struck again after the break to earn a 3-1 win and maximum points.
