MORE than 80 toddlers put their feet down and pedalled hard to raise money for ChildLine last week.
The toddlers at Busy Bees Nursery in Chippenham took part in the national pedal push fundraising event to help other children.
"We raised £800 last year so we hope to raise even more this year, but the money is still coming in," said nursery leader Pat Goodyear.
She said the children each took it in turn to pedal around the circuit.
"They did between one and 20 laps and they were sponsored for it.
"Some found it harder than others and some of the younger ones had to be helped out by staff who were pushing them along," said Mrs Goodyear.
But the children, aged between two and four-and-a-half, all had fun riding tricycles, toy cars and tractors outside the nursery.
Staff took five children round the circuit at a time and over a period of five days all the children were able to pedal for pounds.
"It was not too much hard work when you think about the money raised," said Mrs Goodyear.
She said the nursery was approached by ChildLine a few years ago and they decided it would be a good fundraising event to take part in.
Mrs Goodyear said: "It is a good way of raising money and giving something to children who may be less privileged.
"Charity begins at home and one day some of our children may need to use ChildLine."
