WESTBURY Rangers B look a good bet to claim a top two finish in Division Four after their 4-0 home victory over All Cannings B moved them up to second spot behind Trowbridge Town Supporters' Club who are the only team to beat Rangers this term.
Lee Saunders should have put the visitors ahead after six minutes but ballooned his chance from eight yards over the bar.
Shane Rendall went close for Rangers on three occasions before Sam Gooding connected with Matthew Gardiner's inch perfect cross to give the home team the lead in the 18th minute.
On 25 minutes Matthew Gardiner stunned Cannings with a second, when from out of nothing he unleashed a 20 yard screamer that goalkeeper Kevin Hall could only help into the net.
In the 33rd minute Cannings' Lee Saunders set up team-mate Sam Patton who with only Rangers' goalkeeper Paul Hillier to beat put the ball wide from close range.
Hillier was called into action in the dying stages of the half when he saved well in a one-on-one situation with Tony Greenidge.
Cannings pressed hard looking to reduce the gap at the start of the second half but found Hillier in fine form to deny both Greenidge and Tim Chilton.
Hall, who was injured while making a close range save, proceeded to keep Cannings in the game with further stops that denied Rendall but the injured keeper could not prevent Sam Gooding from picking up Gardiner's pass and rounding him to slot the ball home to make it 3-0 in the 83rd minute.
After the goal, Hall was replaced by Richard Holman who had little to do until the 95th minute when he had to pick the ball out of the net after Rene Forster scored.
