I WRITE in response to the letter of March 20 by Mr Ody, regarding what he sees as a lack of action into the local health care issues by the town council.
Devizes town councillors have been very vocal during consultation m meetings held by the PCT to discuss the future of the health services.
As Mayor, I have personally met with the chief executive of the Primary Care Trust and made it quite clear that a reduction in local health care provision for Devizes is not an option.
On April 1, Devizes Town Council is holding a public meeting in the Corn Exchange for local people to express their views on the options, as prepared by the PCT for local health services in the Devizes area.
The meeting starts at 7.45pm and it will be the first opportunity for the people of Devizes to debate the final draft options. It is important as many people attend as possible.
CATHERINE BROWN
Mayor, Devizes Town Council
