ERIC SABIN is anxious to extend his English adventure but admits he is still unclear whether he will be gracing the County Ground stage next season.
Queens Park Rangers had expressed an interest in the striker but transfer deadline day passed with no activity in or out of the club.
Sabin trained with his colleagues and insisted he did not want to leave Swindon, despite speculation linking him with a move elsewhere.
Tomorrow's trip to Colchester will give the striker another chance to try and convince Andy King he is worth a deal - against a team he could have signed for.
He said: "I said earlier in the season that I wanted to stay and I still feel the same.
"Things have been said about my position but I am not aware of all the details.
"Of course you have to think about the future. My wife is asking me whether we will be staying or leaving.
"I cannot answer her question at the moment. I will know more when the gaffer speaks to me again. But I think it may be later in the season before the picture is clear.
"Maybe my agent has not told me everything because he does not want me to be distracted. I just don't know. All I can do until I am offered a contract, or not, is to play football and that's what I intend to do."
If selected, Sabin will be delighted to take on Colchester United. He has scored in the last two outings against the U's as well as earning a penalty in the match at Layer Road last season.
He said: "About two weeks before I signed for Swindon, an agent tried to persuade me to go to Colchester.
"But having already spoken to Andy King, I decided Swindon was the right club and I have not regretted the decision.
"And coincidence or not, something always happens when I play against Colchester.
"The first time I played them I got injured, but then there have been goals and penalties. So we will have to see what this next match brings."
Malcolm Crosby took yesterday's training session with King again absent through illness.
He said: "We're all looking forward to the game. If that wasn't the case on the back of last week's victory, then there's something wrong."
