LABOURER Andrew Sims has been banned from driving for 25 months for driving home from a Westbury nightclub.
Sims, 35, was seen swerving his car along the Yarnbrook bypass at 2.15am by patrolling officers.
Failing a roadside breath test he was taken to Melksham police station where he gave two specimens of breath. The reading was 76mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath more than twice the legal limit.
Magistrates in Trowbridge were told Sims drove home from Reflections Nightclub because he couldn't afford a taxi.
Defence solicitor Alex Daymond said Sims would have trouble getting to his job because of the ban.
Sims, of Bonds Street, Trowbridge, admitted drink-driving.
