A BUSINESS breakfast club has launched its annual award scheme to boost the careers of local businesswomen.
The Make It Happen award, run by Swindon Businesswomen's Breakfast Club, is open to all women who live and work in the Swindon area and wish to further their business qualifications.
It includes cash support of up to £1,000, career advice, the support of a mentor and free club membership for a year.
Club chairwoman Nanette Young said: "It's very exciting. We normally get about 10 to 12 entrants and all those who have won before say how much they have benefited."
Attending the launch at the Goddard Arms Hotel in Old Town were previous Make It Happen winners, including 1996 winner Janice Knight, who used her award to gain an NVQ4 in business studies, and Theresa Knight, who won the 2000 award and went on to take a management training course.
