KEEN gardeners who recycle their kitchen rubbish could help a Wiltshire wildlife group with their next research project.
The Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is researching how much of an impact composting at home has on landfill sites and how quickly they fill up with rubbish.
Rebecca Midgley, home composting officer at the trust, wants people who do their own composting to get in touch.
Volunteers will receive a free compost bin and small kitchen collection bin and will need to put the things they would usually compost into the research bin for one week a month. The contacts will be weighed as part of the research.
Ms Midgley said: "Landfill sites in the west country will be full in five years, so by helping the trust volunteers will be helping tackle Wiltshire's huge rubbish problem."
Anyone who thinks they may be able to help with the research is asked to contact Ms Midgley on (01380) 725670.
