SKURRAYS WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: FOR the second week running, Trow-bridge were made to pay for missed opportunities as they crashed to defeat in this Premier Division clash.
Stratton started well and attacked at the start but once Trowbridge settled they were the better side for most of the first half.
The first real chance fell to Dave Mitchell in the eighth minute but it was easily taken by the Stratton goalkeeper.
Stratton were then awarded a free kick that Adam Sheppard caught safely despite the windy conditions.
The best move of the first half came shortly afterwards. Andy Bloodworth fed the ball to Mitchell in midfield and his quick turn beat one player and he created a chance for Dave Percival to shoot just over the bar.
A further chance for Mitchell also went over the bar in the 30th minute after some good work by Adam Nunn and Blood-worth. Ricky Hulbert also headed over after 35 minutes to leave a first half goal-less.
The second half was more evenly contested and Stratton took the lead after 55 minutes.
A corner was headed back across goal and Alan Blake was first to the ball from close range. Trowbridge then lost Dave Mitchell to a knee injury and Stratton seemed to take control of the game as Trowbridge reorganised.
With three minutes remaining, Dave Percival gained possession on the left wing and beat a couple of defenders to get to the goal-line and cut a pass back for Adam Nunn to shoot towards goal.
The ball scraped the outside of a post and went for a goal kick and Stratton held on for their three points.
