IT is no exaggeration to suggest that Swindon Supermarine face their biggest game of the season tomorrow.

Ray Baverstock and his team travel to meet Rocester in a crucial relegation clash.

The Uttoxeter outfit are currently the benchmark for safety and sit nine points ahead of Marine with eight league games remaining.

Victory for Baverstock's men will herald renewed hope of survival. Defeat does not bear thinking about.

"I don't want to put undue pressure on the lads, but it's fair to say this is a bigger game than most," said an understated Baverstock.

"It is very important we don't lose. We will be going there to win, but we have to get some kind of result otherwise we have a mountain to climb.

"I just want the lads to relax and play like they did against Swindon on Monday. If they do that then we'll be okay.

"Whatever happens at Rocester we won't be throwing the towel in."

If Marine do reproduce their Wiltshire Shield heroics, they stand a good chance of bridging that nine-point gap.

The 2-1 extra-time win over a young Swindon side gave Baverstock and co a cup final to look forward to and some much needed confidence ahead of the long trip up the M5.

A strong squad is set to make the journey, with former Cirencester youngster Barry Matthews finally completing a loan move from Watford.

Midfielder Matthews goes straight into the squad, although his Hornets colleague Nick Williams who agreed temporary terms at Hunts Copse two weeks ago continues to struggle with a groin injury.

Centre-back Steve Davies will return after overcoming a back strain, but Shaun Terry has picked up a similar injury and faces a fitness test.
