WESTBURY residents are living in fear of another arson attack in the town. There have been 31 fires in the area since last November and police admit they are no closer to catching those responsible.
A team of four detectives has now been put on the case but they have little evidence to work on.
Residents are worried that next time somebody maybe be seriously injured or even killed, because the arsonist seems to have little regard for human life.
Police are doing their best to reassure people that they will be safe if they take all the necessary precautions but it does not take much for a wheelie bin fire to spread. We have already seen the devastating effects of mindless arson when a business on the Bumpers Farm industrial estate, Chippenham, was gutted by a similar attack.
Whoever is responsible for the fires in Westbury must give themselves up because they obviously need help it is not too late for them to stop. What they have done is serious enough but killing someone would be unforgivable.
From a young age, we have always been told that it is dangerous to play with fire, but for some people it seems like it is the only way they can get their kicks.
