THE progress of a school building project in the Kenyan capital was the subject of a recent talk to Chiseldon Wives' Club by Mike Welsh from the Rotary Club of Swindon Old Town.
Desai Children's School in Nairobi is being funded by the Rotarians through donations including several by the wives' club.
Mr Welsh said the work on the £30,000 school was nearly complete and showed photographs of children being taught in the new school buildings.
He explained that some infrastructure work remained, including plumbing, but added that the children really enjoyed their new surroundings. Five Rotarians recently went to Nairobi to inspect the work in progress.
