ANYONE who wants to stand in next month's parish, district and borough council elections has until Tuesday to lodge their nomination.
In Swindon, 20 of the 59 borough council seats are up for grabs.
Additionally, voters will go to the polls to elect four parish councils: Chiseldon, Haydon Wick, Highworth, Stratton St Margaret and Wroughton.
Parish and district councillors are also up for re-election in the North Wiltshire Area.
In Swindon, the election could have a decisive effect on the make-up of the council.
Currently, Labour is running the council as a minority administration with 28 seats.
The Conservatives have 23 seats and the Liberal Democrats eight. Of the seats up for re-election six are currently Conserv-ative, 11 Labour and three Liberal Democrat.
Those wishing to stand must be an elector in the ward or parish, have lived or worked there for 12 months or owned/rented a property in the area for the last 12 months.
They also qualify if they live or work within three miles of the parish/ward border. You must be nominated by at least 10 electors from the ward in which you want to stand.
For parish council elections you need just two.
All nominations for the Swin-don area should be handed in by midday by Tuesday at the Civic Offices in Swindon.
Those wishing to stand in North Wiltshire should hand theirs in at the council offices in Monkton Park, Chippenham.
Polling day is on May 1.
The Swindon wards to be contested are: Abbey Meads, Central, Covingham and Nythe, Dorcan, Eastcott, Freshbrook and Grange Park, Gorse Hill and Pinehurst, Haydon Wick, Highworth, Moredon, Old Town and Lawn, Parks, Penhill, St Margaret, St Philip, Shaw and Nine Elms, Toothill and West-lea, Walcot, Western, Wrough-ton and Chiseldon.
North Wiltshire District Council seats up for re-election include: Ashton Keynes and Minety, Brinkworth, Cricklade, Lyneham, Purton, Lydiards, Wootton Bassett North and Wootton Bassett South.
Parish and town councils in North Wiltshire include: Ashton Keynes, Brinkworth, Broad Town, Cricklade, Lydiard Millicent, Lydiard Tregoze, Lyneham and Bradenstoke, Minety, Purton and Wootton Bassett.
