ANALYSIS by the GMB General Union shows that over two million workers in England now work mainly from home.
In Wiltshire a total of 30,842 people work from home, an increase of 128 per cent from 1991 when 13,530 people in the county worked from home.
The growth in the number of people working mainly at home or from home is related to the use of new technology like laptop computers, email and mobile phones.
GMB members who now work from home include gas engineers, water workers, AA roadcrews, caretakers, wardens and hotel and pub staff.
