WOOTTON Bassett Mayor Peter Roberts has had his blood pressure checked to support a stroke awareness campaign being run by Wootton Bassett Rotary Club.
The club has teamed up with the Stroke Association to offer free blood pressure checks on Saturday, April 5
Information on reducing high blood pressure will also be available
Doctors and nurses will be carrying out the checks in Budgen's supermarket in the Boroughfield's Shopping Centre. The times have yet to be confirmed.
Coun Roberts, who is a Rotarian himself, admitted he was in need of a blood pressure check because his last one was two years ago.
He said: "As a member of rotary myself I support all their health campaigns. The biggest one is polio eradication but stroke awareness is also a big one.
"I would urge people to get their blood pressure checked and visit the doctors and nurses on the stroke awareness day."
