BUSH and Blair have lost the argument about their attack on Iraq. Now they try to silence opposition by saying "keep quiet and support the troops." But how far do these war mongers support the troops.
Look at the homeless. Up to one in five hostel residents and nearly one in three rough sleepers have been in the Armed Forces. While billions are spent on killing, when the surviving troops return they are dumped.
Towards the end of the Vietnam War, the US government's support for their boys evaporated when the troops refused to follow orders and mutinied in large numbers, some even blowing up their own officers.
Vice president Cheney, like George W Bush, managed to avoid supporting the troops with his own presence in Vietnam. He explained, he "had other priorities than military service," during Vietnam. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay avoided call up by opening his business. He explains, "So many minority youths had volunteered... that there was literally no room for patriotic folks like myself." Convenient.
Troops aren't allowed to speak out against this war for oil and US power so others must do it for them. Support them bringing them home.
