THE protest movement is still strong.
One million people around the country protested on Saturday, March 22.
The government lost the argument and should not be allowed to hide behind the emotional blackmail of the "support the troops". Just because something has started it doesn't make it right.
The war might not be stopped, but the pressure on the government will hopefully help to keep casualties to a minimum.
The message of tolerance and hope spread by the protests is contagious, and gives hope to millions all over the world. The Palestinians were greatly boosted by the support of the peace protests and if this stops one more suicide bomber or other act of terror it is worth it.
We need to campaign for the peaceful removal of weapons of mass destruction world-wide and to tell the government that we care more about our environment and the well being of people in the third world than we do corporate profit.
Protestors are often accused of being naive, I would prefer to think not cynical.
