TROWBRIDGE came back from 10-0 down to reach the semi-finals of the Bath Combination Cup with a hard earned victory.
From the start Old Culverhay-sians took every opportunity to attack and their continual recycling of the ball eventually paid dividends when they took a 10 point lead halfway through the first half with a converted try and a penalty.
In the final minutes of the half Trowbridge pushed deep into Old Culverhaysians' territory and, following a series of quick rucks, the ball was spun wide to centre Mark Blake who sprinted over the line to open Trowbridge's account.
The conversion was added by winger Matthew Dowling to take his personal tally past 100 points for the season.
Shortly afterwards the Trow-bridge pack drove deep into their opponents' half and following an infringement a penalty was added by Dowling to make the half time score 10-10.
At the start of the second half Old Culverhaysians were awarded a penalty and took their chance to go into a narrow 13-10 lead.
Trowbridge soon regained the lead when Barry Coombs sprinted down the blind side, chipped the ball over the full back and touched down.
Trowbridge's pack gained the upper hand in all set pieces and a further penalty was added by Graeme Morrison.
In the final play of the game centre Mark Blake intercepted a pass in midfield and sprinted half the length of the pitch to touch down.
ON a very pleasant spring day it was a strong Bradford on Avon 2nds team, bolstered by five new players and first teamers returning from injury, that made the best of the conditions.
First half tries came from Doug Robinson, Andy Cooper (2), Jeff Hill, Alex Bird and Alan Sullivan, with three of them converted.
Anthony Wilkins scored just after the break, Andy Nuttall completed a hat-trick and Alex Bird and Phil Heale added singles.
