RALPH Robertson, one of Wiltshire's best known golfers and administrators, has been made an honorary life member of Ogbourne Downs.
Scottish-born, now 68, he has been captain and president in his 45 years as a member.
He has captained Wiltshire, was county president and won the county championship 1964 and 1970.
His son Steve is a professional at the Broome Manor club and one of the best players in the West Region.
Former ladies' captain Angela Leighfield has become the first woman to become club president in the 96-year history of Ogbourne Downs. She succeeds Stuart Musgrove.
She has been a member since 1967, was captain in 1984, and her husband Maurice, sons Simon and Richard and grandson Robert are also members of the club.
Ron Hancock, 57, is the new captain, succeeding Tony Pike. He started playing in 1988 and plays off 10. Barbara Entwistle is the new ladies' captain.
