THESE lovable dogs are searching for a new home and owners who will take time to care for them.

Homer and Ernie were both found abandoned in Herefordshire but now the Swindon based charity Strictly Strays Medical Fund is trying to re-home them.

Homer is a male collie, is about four-years-old and is blind while Ernie, a male lurcher is about two.

The charity is looking for homes in any area although the dogs can't be placed in families where there are children under five because they were strays and not much is known about their history.

Jessica Bascombe, dog re-homing co-ordinator, said: "For Ernie, we are looking for somebody used to larger dogs, it is better if they have a garden.

"But he will not need a lot of walking. He will need to be able to run about, but a short walk is fine for them. Just a chance to get it out of their system.

"Even though Homer is blind, he copes very well in the house and doesn't bump into things. He gets very close but never actually touches them. He is fine on an extended lead and loves the park.

"We are looking for people who either own their own homes or are allowed to keep pets in their property.

"Also, people need to be at home for part of the day. By law, dogs can't be left alone for more than three hours without attention.

"This can be in the form of a pet sitter if people are at work."

Anyone interested in adopting the dogs should call Jessica on 07952080398.
