Pewsey Vale turned in one of their best performances of the season to hold second-placed Carterton Town.
Manager Steve Wootten was delighted with his side, saying: "We had the better of the chances in the first-half and could well have gone in at the break a couple of goals up.
"They came at us a bit in the second-half but we defended well.
"It was a good team performance and if we play like that in our remaining games we could well escape relegation."
Both Craig Wall and Mark Bennett could have given Vale the lead in the first 45 minutes.
After the break, Carterton showed some of the form that has taken them to second-place in the table.
However, some good defending by sweeper Mickey Goodwin and a great save by goalkeeper Dave Hunt in the closing stages gained Pewsey a valuable point.
One goal was enough to settle the issue in the local derby clash between Wootton Bassett and Fairford Town Lee Clarke scoring for the visitors on the hour.
Hosts Bassett gave a start to 16-year-old midfielder Matt Bennett and fellow youth team member Steve Yeardley and they helped keep a tight hold on Fairford's top marksman Lee Stoddart
On the hour Clarke broke the deadlock and, despite frantic efforts from the home side to equalise, the visitors picked up their first three points from four games.
Fairford boss Mark Webb said: "Bassett battled well and made things difficult for us.
"Still it was good to get back on the winning path after three defeats including our biggest of the season at home to Bishops Cleeve in midweek 4-2."
Highworth Town snatched a last-minute equaliser against visitors Henley Town.
The visitors started well and took the lead after just seven minutes when George Friel hit an unstoppable 20-yard free-kick past reserve keeper Daniel Jell, making his debut for the senior side in the absence of Steve Hale.
The home side almost levelled shortly after when a Tate Hulbert header struck the post.
After the interval, play switched swiftly from end to end with Henley goalkeeper Stuart Gosby saving his side with some good saves.
However, with a home defeat staring them in the face, Matt Saye earned Highworth a last-minute penalty when he was brought down in the box.
Justin Miller scored from the spot.
New College Academy notched their third win on the trot beating bottom-club Ross Town 5-0.
Stand-in boss Mark Teasdale said: "The lads are playing really well in their first season in the league and our aim is to win as many of our remaining games as we can and perhaps finish in the top five."
First-half strikes from Chris Oake and Stuart Bellinger put the Academy in the driving seat with Chris Montague,Tom Jones and Chris Ardley adding further second-half goals.
Purton did well to beat Easington Sports 2-0 on their own ground after surviving an early onslaught from the home side.
Five minutes before the break Purton took a surprise lead when Allen Webb burst through the home defence and squared the ball for Eurshall Fearon to score.
They added a second 15 minutes into the second-half when Ben Parsons' corner was deflected to Webbtp give Purton a two-goal cushion.
Purton then defended their lead well with Mathew Dale outstanding in the visitors defence.
Shrivenham battled out a goal-less draw against Pegasus Juniors while Malmesbury Vics were beaten 2-1 at Old Woodstock Town.
Cirencester United lost 3-0 at home to third-placed Ardley United.
