A NEW roundabout on one of the major routes into and out of Swindon has been completed ahead of schedule.
The roundabout has been built at the Stanford Road junction of the A420 Oxford road near Faringdon, to improve road safety and reduce congestion for traffic turning right.
It is also aimed at reducing vehicle speeds and making it easier and safer for cyclists and pedestrians to use the route.
Transport Minister John Spellar said: "The Government is committed to improving safety and reducing congestion on the roads network.
"This is an excellent example of the Highways Agency delivering a relatively small road scheme, but one which will significantly improve safety."
