SHAME on Des Morgan, anti-war views do not automatically become invalid and censorable the moment hostilities commence (Letters, 26/3/03).

Sid Walker and Allan Thipthorne have made their points admirably, honestly, and with no pretence of speaking for anyone but themselves.

The idea that they should be prevented from airing their opinions appals me.

There can be no doubt that this is an unjust war in every sense of the word. It is being fought solely in the interest of American imperialism and the almighty dollar.

Tony Blair seems to have thought that tagging on to George Bush's coat tails was a good thing for this country against the advice of men with brains and principle such as Robin Cook. In a few short weeks our Government has destroyed our good relations with France, Germany and Russia with whom we must ally to avoid world domination by a single super state.

Today, Tony must be as sick as the proverbial parrot to learn that America intends to replace a nasty dictator with one of their own, when and if hostilities end in Iraq.

The best support for our military is for them to be immediately withdrawn from where they should never have been in the first place.

No more blood to be spilt for such an unworthy cause. Please.
