MINETY Under sevens trailed 2-1 at half time to Marlborough with a try from Alex Thomas.
The second half was evenly contested and although Minety scored three more excellent tries through the impressive Garin Garland, Greg Hall and Thomas Howitt, Marlborough ran out 6-4 victors.
Minety proved too strong for their battling Marlborough counterparts at under nine level though.
In an excellent match, Minety took the lead through Elis Garland and they went into the interval 2-0 to the good thanks to a second try from Tom McCulloch.
Marlborough pulled one back early in the second half but it was Minety who ran out 4-1 winners with further scores from dangerous duo Garland and McCulloch.
Marlborough gained revenge at under 11 level in a closely-fought contest.
Minety took the lead with a very well worked move in the first half. Garland was sent clear from his own 22 to touchdown and put his side ahead.
However Marlborough finished the half strongly and pulled back a try back before the interval to ensure a tense second period.
The second half was close, with strong tackling from both sides, but it was Marlborough who emerged as 3-1 winners with two late tries.
SWINDON minis were in action twice on Sunday, recording wins over Supermarine and Wootton Bassett.
Supermarine were beaten by two tries to nil thanks to a fine pair of Cameron Panting touchdowns.
James Tyrer was the only scorer in the 1-0 success against Bassett.
