Swindon Badgers and Swindon Town Ladies under 12s battled out a goalless draw at the weekend.

Badgers had the better of the first half with their midfield running the show. Tara James had the best opportunity of the half but her effort was well saved.

In the second half Town Ladies started well but were resticted to long-range efforts by some rugged defending from the Badgers' defence.

This result keeps Town Ladies top of the Wiltshire league by one point from Badgers in second and Keynsham in third.

n There was no senior ladies football for Chippenham at the weekend, but this weekend the senior team travel to play Bristol Rovers.

Both the under 14s and the senior team play in their respective league cup finals on April 27 at Devizes.

n Becky Powell and Jess Pomfret played for the Wiltshire Senior team at Aldershot on March 25, but they unfortunately went down 3-0.

n Chippenham under 12s lost 4-3 to Frome Town under 12s in an evenly contested game.

Chippenham took an early lead thanks to Hannah Way scoring from a well-taken corner. Frome Town were quick to equalise after a goalmouth scramble.

The game was end to end with Chippenham's Stacy Way making some excellent saves in goal to keep them in the game. Both Mary Brodie and Ellie Crosby made significant defensive efforts.

Louise Edney had two key opportunities to score but the Frome goalkeeper was in in fine form and kept Chippenham from scoring.

Way gained her second to give Chippenham a 2-1 lead. She shot after a fine run through the mid-field. Laura Gifffith's well-taken effort from the half-way line dropped just over the bar.

After half-time, Chippenham continued to apply the pressure on the Frome defence and had a shot blocked on the line.

But Frome then hit back and began to apply pressure on the Chippenham defence. They drew level after an attack down the right wing.

Frome went into the lead for the first time in the game with a low drive into the back of the Chippenham net. They followed this up with another goal shortly afterwards.

Way got her hat-trick for Chippenham just before full-time with a shot that rebounded off the Frome goalkeeper. Credit has to go to both goalkeepers, who made some excellent saves.

Team; Stacy Way, Louise Edney, Mary Brodie, Laura Griffiths, Hannah Way and Ellie Crosby.
