This is a plea to all those able-bodied drivers who park in disabled spaces at Asda in West Swindon. I have just watched an elderly gentleman with a walking stick being assisted to the other side of the car park with his shopping because all the disabled spaces were full. It was obvious he was struggling to walk and in pain. Fortunately a kind member of Asda staff was carrying his shopping for him.
On many occasions I have witnessed perfectly fit people drive into these spaces without a second thought and it saddens to me to watch such selfish behaviour.
So please, if you are one of these people, just think twice next time you feel too lazy for a short walk.
Maybe one day you too will be elderly or disabled and will genuinely need these spaces and think how mad you will feel to see your space being taken by someone who doesn't need it.
