AFTER 21 years of marriage and running a successful bed & breakfast businesses, John and Joyce Bennett have had their fair share of disagreements.
But now the owners of Bennett's B&B in Patterdown near Chippenham, will be airing those differences in public, in a new ITV documentary.
The brave duo invited a television crew and a psychologist into their home for three days last month to film them for a new series, provisionally entitled Domestic Blitz.
The results of their relationship 'makeover' are to be aired in May and they say they're looking forward to it.
"We first heard about the programme when we received an e-mail about it back in February," explained Joyce, 62. "At first we thought the TV company were just wanting to do a series on people running B&Bs.
"But then we found out that they wanted to help couples resolve their differences and we thought, why not!"
"We don't argue a lot, considering we have been married and working together for so long, but I am a little bit domineering and John does tend to back down on things, so we thought we'd see if they could help us with that."
During the course of three days, a team of four, including TV psychologist Tracey Cox, filmed John and Joyce at home.
"Joyce likes painting and I am into woodwork, so they gave her an allotted time to teach me to paint, while I was given a short time to show her how to frame my painting," explained John, 67.
"It was clever how they did it. They wanted to see how we communicated and resolved issues and whether we clashed."
David Hodgkinson of Prospect Pictures, the company behind the programme, is looking for other couples, families or friends who live together to take part in the programme. He can be contacted on (0208) 877 5524.
