CHARITY fundraisers the Malmesbury Lions have two months to find more volunteers before facing closure.
Falling membership is making it increasingly difficult for the group to continue and a meeting held earlier this month decided to give two months to boost numbers above their present level of six people.
The Lions, who raise money throughout the year for causes such as Christmas hampers for the needy, youth sponsorship and individual donations to good causes, are disappointed that they have not had more community support.
Lions secretary, Ian Mace, said: "It was strongly felt that although it was an honour to serve the community, members believed the community in return was not giving sufficient backing and support."
New members, particularly people aged between 35 and 55, are welcome at the next meeting at the Kings Arms, High Street, on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Phone Ian Mace on (01666) 822691 for more details.
