SUPPORTERS Club chairman Wil Hulbert has urged his fellow fans to help Chippenham to a league runners-up spot.
The Bluebirds were perched in third place at the start of play on Saturday, but their home game against Cambridge attracted just 445 spectators Hardenhuish Park's lowest crowd of the season. Hulbert believes Tommy Saunders' men deserve better backing.
He said: "I looked at the other attendances in our league on Saturday and noticed Bath City had over 600 for their home game against Ilkeston. That reflects badly on us.
"People are picking and choosing their games at the moment and it must be galling for Malcolm Lyus and those that have put so much into the club.
"Five years ago we were playing the likes of Bishop Sutton, but we are seeing some real class players coming to us now."
The Supporters Club are organising the Bluebirds' end-of-season presentation night this year, at the Neeld Hall on Friday, May 9. It will include a buffet, disco, and an auction.
Tickets are available to over 18s only and are priced at £13.50. Anyone interested should contact Robin Bolter on (01249) 445272.
