HANNAH Way's hat-trick proved in vain as Chippenham U12s were defeated at Frome.
The visitors opened the scoring when Way converted a well-taken corner, but Frome quickly equalised following a goalmouth scramble.
Play flowed from end to end with Chippenham goalkeeper Stacy Way making some excellent saves to keep her side level.
Louise Edney had two efforts saved by the in-form home goalkeeper, before Way restored the Chippenham lead following a fine run from midfield.
Laura Griffith lobbed inches over the crossbar from long range, but Frome came back strongly after the break and had a shot blocked on the line before they equalised following an attack down the right flank.
Frome scored two more and, although Way pulled one back with her third goal, the home side held on for victory.
Chippenham Ladies were again without a fixture on Sunday but return to action when they travel to Bristol Rovers this weekend.
Bluebirds players Becky Powell and Jess Pomfret played for the Wiltshire side beaten 3-0 at Aldershot last week.
