AT this moment the news and our thoughts are bombarded with the momentous events in Iraq.
Such demanding situations are not new in our history and were frequently recorded in the Bible. This gave opportunity to those, such as Isaiah to write: "Fear ye not, neither be afraid Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any."
It is interesting to realise so many battles in the Bible were fought between different races, tribes or religions but that one God was immediately there to respond to the needs of each individual regardless of such differences.
It has been said war starts in the minds of individuals and I have realised that to help others I need to replace thoughts of anger, hatred and fear with compassion, consideration and love. If we can remove such evil concepts from our own thinking we are contributing to world peace in a very positive way.
