AN ALBUM of photographs of the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, attended by Hitler, and 11 first editions of the works of Beatrix Potter - some given to children by the author's cousins, are being auctioned in Mere on Saturday.
The items are among 250 lots being offered for sale at the Old Ship Hotel by fine art consultants, auctioneers and valuers Finan & Co, of The Square.
The sale catalogue describes the album as containing original photographs, with printed text, entirely devoted to the Japanese participation in the games.
One pictures shows Hitler receiving a deputation of Japanese.
