ORIENTEERING: MEMBERS of Sarum Orienteering Club are currently enjoying great success at home and abroad.
The club was out in force at the Compass Sport competition held at Ringwood Forest where a convincing win over other clubs from the south secured a place in the finals.
Outstanding performances included Ben Ches-ter finishing third in a time of 66.51 over the 9.7km Course A. Michael Bower-ing was seventh in the same class in 71.53.
Meanwhile seventh on Course B was Pat Barclay who completed the 7.7km in 59.26.
Ed MacDonald's 55.45 secured fifth place over the 6.5km Course C, while 47.38 was good enough to earn Peter Hambleton fifth place over Course E.
Chris Illman took first place over the 3.3km Course F in 26.08, with Alice Butt finishing second in 27.57 over the 3km Course G.
The finals will be held in King's Lynn in June.
In Northumberland, Charlotte Duncan won the W55 Course to become the British Night Champion while at a competition in Holland, Emily Benham finished third on her international debut to help England triumph.
