SEVEN Salisbury players have been selected to represent Dorset & Wilts in the end of season county games during April and May. Dave Bell, Pete Upton, Tom Buckingham, John Penry, Tim Shipsey, Malcolm Ellis and Don Parsons were all named in the squad.
SALISBURY Rugby Club hosts a tournament at Hudson's Field tomorrow for the shortened version of the game. Year 7 teams from Wyvern College, Downton, Bishop Wordsworth, St Joseph's and Upper Avon schools will compete for the trophy sponsored by Friends Provident and supported by Sportsmatch.
SALISBURY'S under 13s were involved in a highly entertaining Wiltshire Cup Final match with Chippenham. A Tim Cronin try and conversion cancelled out Chippenham's early lead, but some superb defending prevented Salisbury from adding to their tally. A number of breakaway tries eventually saw Chippenham run out 29-7 winners. The club's under 15s were more successful against their Chippenham counterparts. No points were scored in the first half, but tries from Andrew Henderson and James Foster after the break, plus a conversion and a penalty from Phil Chesters resulted in a 15-0 success for Salisbury.
DANIEL Norton, Oliver Pickford, Jack Barratt and Nico Flanaghan all scored tries as Salisbury's under 14s beat North Dorset 22-15 in a friendly. Flanaghan also kicked the game's only conversion.
