ANDY Sandell's second half penalty was bottom of the table Winsley's only consolation as they were comprehensively beaten 5-1 by Malmesbury Victoria in the Premier Division of the Vanitec Computers sponsored Chippenham Sunday League.
Anthony Vizard (2 penalties), Lee Bevis (2) and Wayne Kibble scored for Malmesbury who in the unlikely event of them winning all their remaining seven league games could pip Percy's for the title.
Percy's coasted to an easy 5-0 win over Pack Horse who played the whole game with only 10 players and makeshift keeper Richard Chaffey in goal.
Dave Kilmurray gave Percy's the lead on 10 minutes, Dave Crawford volleyed home number two with Kilmurray adding three more good efforts in the second 45 minutes to strengthen Percy's grip at the top.
Box Rovers started their game against Westbury Rangers A with only eight players and despite going up to 10 men they were made to pay for their inability to field a full strength side and their 6-1 loss has all but ended their hopes of claiming back-to-back titles.
Robbie White bagged their consolation.
Dog and Fox Ashley gained revenge for their opening day 8-3 hammering by All Cannings A. Their 5-1 victory has almost certainly ended Cannings' hopes of claiming the top spot. Mark Trowbridge scored for All Cannings.
Corsham FC suffered a 4-0 defeat against Bradford News in their penultimate game of the season. Charlie Powell scored first for the Newsmen and then unselfishly set up Stuart Roach for number two. John Burt (penalty) and Steve Rendell were also on target.
Division One
WEST End Wanderers are still in with a chance of an automatic promotion spot following their 5-2 win over Trowbridge Harriers.
Colerne FC's 5-0 win saw them complete a league double over Atworth United. Jamie Bowler and Steve Tarren scored first half goals for Colerne, with Charlie Spirell and a Tony Trotman double sealing Atworth's fate in the second period.
Maud Heath Sports had the worse possible build-up to their forthcoming WG Parr Trophy final appearance, losing 2-0 at Chippenham Police. Craig Dolby scored both of the Police's goals to move the boys in blue well clear of the drop zone.
Division Two
BLACK Horse and Biddestone Social Club lost ground at the top as both sides dropped vital points in their chase for promotion.
Black Horse and Farmhouse FC drew 2-2 for an unprecedented sixth consecutive time. Tony Kerwick twice gave the Horse the lead, but they were unable to hold onto what would have been a vital win.
Biddestone Social Club drew 1-1 with Sutton Benger and Ian Dawkins equalled Benger's scoring record of 113 goals when he turned and poked home the equaliser in the 75th minute.
With Biddestone desperate to maintain their challenge at the top of the table they pressed hard looking for a winner with Steve Gawke clearing a goal bound shot of the line seconds before the final whistle.
North Star A beat North Bradley 7-0. Star captain Victor Long set his side on the way, with Mitchell Padfrey (2), Tommy Ludford (2), Paul Taylor and old stager Nick Edwards, who was making his umpteenth comeback, sharing the others.
Old timers Nigel Hudd and Ted Miluk turned out for a patched-up Wingfield side at home to Christian Malford who shared the points and the goals in an eight-goal thriller that saw Wingfield overturn a 3-0 deficit to snatch a 4-4 draw with an injury time equaliser.
Malford were 3-0 up after 25 minutes, with two goals from Scott Evans and one from Neil Murray and this was after Mark Barnett had blazed a second minute penalty high over the bar for Wingfield. Barnett reduced the arrears with a strike from 30 yards and closed the gap further when he headed home Wingfield's second before Scott Evans completed his hat-trick for Malford and moved the score to 4-2.
Neil Wilcox dragged Wingfield back into the game late on when he scored direct from a corner to make it 4-3. Wingfield goalkeeper Colin Williams produced a fantastic save to keep his side in the game before Nigel Hudd's 25 yarder crept over the line to earn Wingfield their point.
Spencer Sports triumphed 2-0 over fellow Melksham side Pig and Whistle United, with Tim Knight setting up Gary Neate for the opening goal after an excellent team move. Steve Cleverly made the game safe for the Sports with their second goal in the 70th minute.
Division Three
SOUTHWICK Sports suffered their first defeat in 11 outings, going down 4-0 to Corsham Centre, who extended their own unbeaten run to 10 games and the Centre have given themselves a huge chance of claiming a top two finish.
John Horne (2, one penalty), Matthew Lye and Ashley Rich were on target for the Centre. The turning point of the game came when Southwick, who were trailing 1-0 at the time, had a goal ruled out for offside.
There was no repeat of last week's 8-0 scoreline for the Hare and Hounds against Rowde who they met for a second consecutive week. Honours were even this time around with the sides drawing 1-1. Mark Valdery gave the Hounds the lead which was cancelled out by Richard Hayter's strike.
AFC Unicorn received special praise from Somerford's manager Gary Chandler for their all-round performance in their 4-1 win over the villagers who became the first team to complete all their fixtures.
Slack defending by Unicorn gifted Somerford the opener which came from defender Chris Summerhill. Unicorn had an immediate opportunity to reply but Jason Matthews scuffed his spot-kick wide of the target.
Somerford saw chances go begging and were unfortunate to only take a 1-0 lead into the second half. Unicorn were quick out off the blocks at the start of the second half and Dean Fry jinked around Somerford's defence before finishing superbly to tie the scores.
Unicorn's second goal was not long in coming, with Fry once again finding the net.
Lee Scutter made it 3-1 before Fry capped a great personal display the fourth goal from the penalty spot which also saw him complete his hat-trick.
Thanks to the efforts of Roadruuners' Steve Ivin their match with the Sir Audley's Arms was switched to Clarendon School because the Arms' Lackham pitch was unavailable. Rich Eddy's penalty was Roadrunners' only consolation as they went down 5-1, with Steve Shipway (2), Kieron Smith (2) and Wayne Burry scoring for the victors.
Division Four
THE race for the title is hotting up after victories for all three of the leading contenders.
Trowbridge Town Supporters' Club continue to head the table after a narrow 2-1 victory against Bradstone Rovers, whose goal came from Alan Eades.
Westbury Rangers B remain second after defeating Parsons Nose 4-2.
Four Seasons continue to battle for silverware on two fronts. The WG Parr Trophy finalists will go into Sunday's final against First Division Maud Heath Sports full of confidence after their 3-0 win over Potterne FC which keeps them in with a good chance of automatic performance to Division Three. Ryan Nicholls, Ryan Hunt and Kevin Banks scored the goals.
All Cannings B were the highest scores of the day as they crushed KSM 8-1. Sam Patton notched a first half treble with Tim Chilton (2), Glen Dillon, James Webb and Kevin Hall rounding things off. Jason Cole replied.
