SKURRAY'S WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: LEADERS Shrewton United were the real winners from the top clash in Premier Division between Stratton Crosslink and Wroughton, as the title-chasers played out a 1-1draw.
It was a massive clash for both Stratton and Wroughton, sitting in second and third place respectively and needing victory to keep the heat on Shrewton at the top.
But instead Shrewton pulled a further two points clear of their rivals thanks to this result.
Wroughton took the lead five minutes into the second-half when Tom Dingle finished off an excellent free-kick from Lee Northcott.
But a mistake by Wroughton goalkeeper Simon Lowe allowed Stratton back into the game he missed a cross by Hawkins and Rob Broadbanks was on hand to score.
Shrewton took full advantage the draw and kept their ambitions to join the Screwfix Direct League alive with a 4-0 win over bottom club Chiseldon Castrol.
Trowbridge Town celebrated their reinstatement to the Wiltshire Senior Cup with a 3-1 win over Devizes Town Reserves. Marcus Woollen netted for Devizes.
Bradford Town scored the only goal of the game at Aldbourne Matt Cottrell netting 10 minutes into the second-half.
At Marlborough, Biddestone took a two-goal interval lead through Danny Jones and Mark Pearce.
After the break, Lee Blanchard converted a penalty, Richard Jackson levelled the scores and the visitors had two players sent off.
Warminster Town scored three in each half to beat Malmesbury Vics Reserves 6-0 on their own ground.
Intermediate Division leaders Dunbar Westside got off to a flyer at Biddestone Reserves, scoring four in the first 45 minutes. They ended up 5-1 winners. Ricky Hewittson chalked up a hat-trick with Geoff Swatton and Rich Saunders providing the other two.
Second-placed Wanborough United had to work hard for their 2-1 win over Down Ampney. Two-goals up, courtesy of strikes from Paul Parsons and Mick Harper, they conceded a penalty converted by Ampney's Nigel Clarke but just managed to hold on to their lead.
Goals from Paul Taylor and Pete Temple gave Calne Town Reserves a 2-0 win over Blunsdon United.
Junior Division leaders Aldbourne Reserves gained a 2-1 success away to Blunsdon United Reserves thanks to goals from James Cornfield and Nick O'Dwyer.
Cricklade Reserves won 4-2 against Minety thanks to an Ian Curtis hat-trick and a goal from Ian Ross.
Ferndale Rodbourne won 2-1 at Bromham, Robert Griffin and Stuart Marriott scoring for the Swindon side and Darren Brown for Bromham.
Wroughton Reserves kept their title hopes alive with a 6-3 win over Down Ampney Reserves Stuart Temple (3), Kevin Ackrill, Nick Maggs and Ian Lennard scoring.
Visitors Down Ampney were 2-0 up in the first five minutes with strikes from Nick McCrae and Paul Dolphin. McCrae scored again after the break.
Wootton Bassett United were held to a 2-2 draw by Chiseldon Castrol Reserves. Trailing 2-0, United scored twice through Gary Loveday and Danny Sealey in the last quarter of the game to salvage a point. Chris Harrison scored a brace for Castrol.
Purton A gained a 3-1 away win over Wootton Bassett A, Simon Halliday (2) and Simon Pugh on target,.
Dunbar Westside Reserves beat Marlborough Town Reserves 3-2 Andy White (2) and Mike Corkeran for Dunbar and Daniel Sly (2) for the Town.
Sporting HKQ and West Swindon shared the points in a 1-1 draw Alec Windsor for Sporting and Derek Northwood for West Swindon.
