MID-WILTSHIRE SUNDAY LEAGUE: SELECTABOOK secured their position in the John Strickland Memorial Cup following a 2-0 win over Trowbridge Wanderers.

Bottom of the table Wanderers made a valiant attempt against the league leaders but to no avail.

With Wanderers defending stoutly and trying attack on the break, it took 55 minutes for Selectabook to break the deadlock when Jamie Gale headed in.

Marcus Wallen's well-taken header from ten yards gave the Bookmen a two-goal lead ten minutes later.

Devizes Snooker Club moved back into third spot after a 3-1 victory over the Kings Arms. The Snooker Club made the most of their advantage playing down the slope in the first half and were three up by half time.

Jonathon Schofield converted from the spot after being brought down in the area and then went on to score his second shortly after.

Ray Clemence struck from close range to make it three but many more would have been scored if it was not for the Arms keeper Dan McClurg.

Kings Arms dominated the play in the second half but could only manage a late consolation goal when Nick Gleeson converted a penalty for handball.
