THE families of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman have surely been through enough, yet there was to be one more twist to their terrible ordeal.
They were to learn that a man of the law, whom they trusted and befriended, was at first suspected of, then charged with child pornography.
In my eyes this places Anthony Goodridge in a similar class of people as the couple he was helping to hunt down.
Now, I want to point out that Anthony Goodridge is a bad egg amongst a huge basket of immensely good eggs. Indeed, the vast majority of the boys and girls in blue are both totally trustworthy and utterly brilliant.
However, I am shocked. I find myself asking more questions than I can answer.
Just how can a man who is facing such charges have been placed in a position of such parental trust?
But, perhaps my second point probes deeper.
Why was a man answerable to such charges only sentenced to six months? Three of which have been suspended. Surely this is wrong.
