A NEW manager has taken over the tourist information centre in Amesbury.
Canadian Susan Boundford has taken over the role from Howard Piner, who has become town clerk of Amesbury town council.
Mrs Boundford, from Newfoundland, brings to Amesbury a vast amount of experience working in the tourism industry and said she has been made to feel "extremely welcome" in the two weeks she has been in Amesbury.
She said: "The staff are incredible, they certainly know the area and are enthusiastic about their work."
Mrs Boundford (36) said she wants to become involved in the local community and wants to ensure all communication lines are open.
"If there is an event happening in the area ring, or better still, drop in.
"I want to encourage the local community to stop in and find out what we have to offer and what we are all about."
She arrived in the UK in December 2001after more than ten years in the tourism business in Canada.
Mrs Boundford and her husband, who serves in the RAF, live in Wylye but they will soon be moving to Larkhill.
