TWO Salisbury women are teaming up to organise a sponsored walk and send a seriously ill member of their family on the holiday of a lifetime.
Jocelyn Pickett, of Stratford-sub-Castle, and Jo Hayball, of Alderbury, want to raise enough money to send Gigi Lockwood, Jocelyn's daughter and Jo's aunt, to the Seychelles.
Gigi (44), of Fovant, was involved in a serious car accident in December 2001, but has since been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and has more recently been told that she has a brain tumour.
Mrs Pickett (66) said: "Everybody has been asking how they can do something to help.
"My daughter has so many friends and is very well-known in Salisbury, so Jo and I thought this would be the best way to get them all involved.
"She has had such a dreadful 14 months and we just wanted to do something to show her how much we love her."
Gigi worked full-time at Friends Provident in Salisbury before her car accident, in which she shattered her pelvis and wrist.
Gigi also took several aerobics classes in her spare time.
