WILTSHIRE will hold two trial matches this weekend for prospective candidates for their Middleton Cup inter-county side.
They will face Somerset at Bath in the first trial on Saturday, and the following day play Oxfordshire at Banbury Central.
The third and final trial against Hampshire takes place at Wootton Bassett on Sunday, May 18.
This year Wiltshire will play in a different section in the preliminary stages of the inter-county championship.
Instead of competing in the five-team South West group alongside Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, they have been placed in a South Midlands group and will face Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
The first two Middleton Cup games will be away at Stoke (Coventry) and Gilt Edge (Kidderminster) on June 7 and 21 respectively, with Wootton Bassett hosting the third against Herefordshire on Saturday, July 5.
