SWINDON Town Ladies Under 14s put up a brave fight before succumbing to Surrey Primary League double winners Portsmouth.
Swindon dominated the league play-off for long spells at Woking's Kingfield Stadium before losing 3-1.
Cheered on by Town mascot Rockin Robin, it was Swindon who made the early running.
Claire Moreton charged in on goal and was brought down by a heavy challenge on the edge of the box.
The resulting free-kick was taken by Carly Smith and the Pompey keeper just managed to hold the ball at the second attempt.
Portsmouth took the lead against the run of play on 14 minutes when prolific goal scorer Zoe Nash charged down a Town clearance and scored with an angled shot.
After this setback, Town gradually clawed their way back into the game and Laura Allsop fired in a powerful shot which bounced to safety off the bar.
Moreton again found herself in acres of space on the left but was foiled by the Portsmouth No 1 who pushed her shot wide for a corner.
Portsmouth had the first sight of goal at the start of the second half, Nash's shot going straight at Levett, before Smith curled a free-kick just outside the post at the other end.
Portsmouth were finding it increasingly difficult to get out of their own half as Swindon attacked impressively and the Pompey midfield started to tire.
Smith delivered a fine corner to the far post and Moreton rose above the defenders but headed over the bar from six yards.
Portsmouth finally broke from their own half and scored a second goal 25 minutes into the second period.
Nash ran at the Swindon defence, Freya Keene got back to block her shot, which bounced across the face of goal and a Pompey forward slid the ball under the dive of Levett.
With nothing to lose Swindon pushed more players forward and Lisa Coe turned inside a defender and forced a corner with five minutes left to play.
Pompey only half cleared the corner and substitute Samantha Masters picked up the loose ball and fired a looping volley up and over the keeper into the far corner of the net.
But as Town pressed for an equaliser Pompey killed the game when Nash ran the ball from the halfway line, turned in towards the edge of the Swindon area, and fired in her 76th goal of a remarkable season to seal the double for Portsmouth.
Swindon Spitfires Reserves were 3 - 1 winners against Frome Town Sports Reserves in their final Wiltshire County League game of the season.
After a scoreless first half, the Spitfires dominated the second period.
Two goals from the team's top scorer, Katy Edwards, and a late penalty converted by Rachel Eley proved enough to seal victory.
n Chippenham Town Ladies completed their campaign with an emphatic 7-1 win over Keynsham Town Ladies Reserves at Hardenhuish Park.
Tash Perry opened the scoring and Jess Pomfret and Harriet Titcombe made it 3-0 before the visitors got one back.
Titcombe went on to complete a hat-trick while Perry and Pomfret both added to their tally.
